Brian Thomas Nelson, 64, a longtime resident of Weatherford, died October 7, 2021, after a long illness.
Brian was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Corvan and Charlotte Nelson and the family moved to Texas in 1972. Brian graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington in 1975, attended what was then called Tarrant County Junior College. Afterwards, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force and two years in the Reserves. He left the service with the rank of sergeant.
He worked for General Dynamics and various other businesses. His last job, before his illness, was as a site manager for HyTEK, a company that installs conveyors in warehouses around the country. After his father died in 1999, Brian stepped up in his free time and whenever he was home in North Texas to help his mother as an all-around handyman at her residence. He loved working on cars and remodeling his own home. He was a Mason.
Brian is survived by his mother, Charlotte Nelson of Willow Park; two uncles, Louie Schmidt and William Schmidt, both of Madison, Wisconsin; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Corvan, and his brother, Gary.
A private service was held in Weatherford.
