Brian Keith Smith, born on November 1, 1961, in Nederland, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a man of the community, known for his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and local engagements.     A respected truck driver for Republic Services, Brian carried not just loads, but also a spirit of commitment and service wherever he went. His connection to the community was further exemplified by his active involvement with the Nederland Heritage Festival and as a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3743 in Port Neches. He embraced every opportunity to participate in community life, making lasting memories along the way.     Brian's interests extended beyond his professional life; he had a passion for bowling, playing golf, and he was a huge fan of the Houston Astros and Texans. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious; he shared these interests with friends and family, creating bonds that will be cherished forever.     He was most alive when surrounded by his cherished grandchildren, Daylan Courmier, Dalayna Courmier, and Destynee Courmier. Brian truly lived for them, finding joy and fulfillment in spending quality time together. His love for his family extended to his children: son, Jacob Smith Aymond and his husband, Josh, and daughter, Briana Courmier and her husband, Dylan. Brian also leaves behind beloved sibling; his brother, Charles Smith and his wife, Lisa, and sister, Christi Murphy and her husband, Robby and his former wife, Cristi Smith, the mother of his children.     He is preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Janet Smith, whose memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.     In honor of Brian’s life and legacy, a celebration of Brian's life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3743, located at 2313 Nederland Avenue, Port Neches, Texas 77651, on November 2, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.     Brian Keith Smith was a beacon of love and strength for his family and community. His jovial spirit and infectious laugh will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
