Brian D. Sobel, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away at home on June 4, 2024. A master of woodworking and cabinetry, Brian has left behind a legacy of creativity and passion for his craft. Born on December 8, 1960, Brian dedicated his life to honing his skills in woodworking, where he displayed unmatched talent and artistry. His career was not just a job, but a true expression of his love for creating beautiful pieces with precision and dedication.

In addition to his career, Brian had a profound love for the sport of boxing, particularly admiring the legendary Muhammad Ali. He was captivated by Ali's skill and charisma in the ring, never missing an opportunity to watch him fight.

Family was at the center of Brian's world. His bond with his only daughter, Jennifer, was unbreakable. They shared countless adventures; from skipping rocks at the lake to exploring bookstores. Brian also cherished moments spent with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. His connection with his beloved kitty "Chew Dog" was truly special as he was the only one able to get close to the usually aloof feline.

Brian's personality was a unique blend of wisdom and feistiness. He had a knack for offering sage advice as a noble gentleman while never shying away from speaking his mind with candidness.

One of Brian's proudest accomplishments was marrying the love of his life, Jean, on March 1, 1996. Their partnership was filled with love and unwavering support for each other through life's ups and downs.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 28 years; Jean Sobel, daughter; Jennifer Nicholson, grandchildren; Aireonia Rutherford & Bryan Woods, parents; Jerome & Iris Sobel along with siblings; Max (Terry) Sobel, Ross Sobel & Lisa Sobel.

Brian's passing leaves behind a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His Memorial Gathering will be held at O'Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Indianapolis on June 19, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM.

As we bid farewell to Brian, may we remember him for his craftsmanship, love for family, and vibrant spirit that touched the lives of many. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
