Brian Talley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service - Charlotte on Dec. 5, 2025.
Brian Paschal Talley of Charlotte, NC, 59 years old, passed away on November 23, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Herbert Talley and Clara Hughes Talley, whom he loved deeply and honored throughout his life. Brian is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Gabriell "Gabbie" Talley, who stood by his side through every joy and every challenge. He is also survived by his two sons, William Hughes Talley of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Jabe Carson Talley of Charlotte, who were his pride and greatest accomplishments. Brian leaves behind his brother, Chris Talley, and his wife, Melany, of Fuquay-Varina, as well as his beloved nieces, Mattilyn Talley Wolf and Elli Talley, who brought him great joy.
A graduate of South Mecklenburg High School and Mars Hill University, Brian earned a degree in education and carried his passion for learning into everything he did. He served his community with dedication as a volunteer firefighter from 1990 to 1997 with Carmel Volunteer Fire Department and later with the Pineville Fire Department. He was Past Master at James K. Polk Lodge and a member of
Oasis Patrol. His commitment to service and his willingness to help others were defining aspects of his character.
Brian was known for his warm heart and his steadfast devotion to family. One of his most cherished traditions was making Sunday phone calls to close family and friends-a ritual begun by his mother and proudly carried on by him. Those weekly conversations strengthened the bonds he held so dear and left lasting memories for all who received them.
Brian faced a long and difficult battle with kidney disease, during which his cousin, Fred Talley, selflessly donated a kidney in an act of profound love. Though the transplant was ultimately unsuccessful, Brian met every challenge with courage, gratitude, and remarkable strength.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, his humor, and the love he shared so generously. His legacy lives on in the family, friends, and community he touched.
The family invites you to visitation at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 13501 South Tryon Street in Charlotte, at 2:30 p.m.
A celebration of Brian's life will follow at 3:30 p.m on December 13, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org or the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation, www.RSMF73.org, which provides resources and support to first responders.
