Brian A. Wagner, 73, of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away peacefully on his birthday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Chicago, Brian carried a lifelong passion for his hometown teams—the Chicago Bears and the White Sox. He was also an avid golfer, proudly achieving three holes-in-one during his many years on the course. Beyond the links, Brian found great joy in supporting his grandchildren in their activities and spending time at his Florida home, where he cherished moments with family by his side.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. Wagner and Lucille T. Wagner (née Borst); his brothers, Paul (Betty) Wagner and Gary (Mary) Wagner; and his sister, Susan Wagner.
He leaves behind, Geri, his devoted wife of 48 years; one brother, Wayne (Peg) Wagner, his loving children, Theresa (Mike) Kettwig and Brian (Jamie) Wagner; and his four treasured grandchildren, Dominic, Gianna, Sloane, and Vaughn, who were the light of his life. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed by his kindness and generosity.
Brian loved life and everyone who shared it with him. His big heart, warm and welcoming presence, and devotion to his family and friends will endure in the hearts of those who love him.
To celebrate Brian’s life, his family will welcome family and friends on Saturday, August 30th at Silver Lake Country Club from 12:00PM to 4:00PM to share fond memories, a meal, and refreshments. Honoring Brian’s favorite pastimes, golf or Bears attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations to Providence Catholic High School in Brian’s name would be appreciated.
