Bridget Wilson

Bridget Katherine Wilson, born on December 26, 1953, in West Chester, PA, passed away on January 27, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
Bridget is survived by her son, Joshua Alcorn (Brianna) of Kennett Square, PA, her daughter Jenda Alcorn of Los Angeles, CA, and her two grandchildren Noah and Annalise. Bridget also leaves behind five brothers, one sister, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her.
Bridget graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School and earned both her teaching degree and master's in education from West Chester University. She spent 20 years teaching at Pennwood Elementary in the West Chester School District, where she made a lasting impact on her students and fellow teachers. Before teaching, Bridget worked as a merchandise buyer and a retail store manager. When her children were young, she ran an in-home daycare, providing a loving environment for so many kids in the community.
Bridget was predeceased by her first husband, Mark Alcorn, in 1989, and her second husband, Barry Wilson, in 2022. Her life was filled with resilience and love, and she will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for teaching.
In 2013, Bridget was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, a battle she faced with courage and grace. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the loving staff at Brandywine Living at Longwood, Holisticare Hospice, and her devoted caregivers, Therese Weeks and Mikerlange Marthyr, for their compassionate care.
Bridget had a deep love for music and dancing, and every family gathering turned into a dance party thanks to her infectious spirit. These joyful moments will be cherished by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11 am with a viewing beginning at 10 am. Burial will be private.
