Bridgette Gable Gruber, 72, of Irmo, died Thursday, December 18, 2025 at her residence.
Born on August 7, 1953 in Irmo, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Myra Chapman Gable.
Bridgette retired after 33 years with the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association .She touched nearly every aspect of the Association's operations, from serving as an insurance liaison and coordinating AUTOCAP to overseeing forms and bonds. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church where she served in many roles and was a former member of the church choir. She dedicated to her time as the Spiritual Growth Coordinator for the Columbia District of the United methodist Women's Executive Committee. Bridgette volunteered with Hospice for 16 years, where she often dressed as a clown to bring smiles and comfort to patients, an expression of her generous heart and her desire to lift others up. She enjoyed cooking and spending time on her porch working with her plants. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandsons.
She is survived by her husband, David Gruber; a daughter, Chrissy (Paul) Jacobs of Prosperity; brothers, Kenny (Robin) Gable of Irmo, Scott (Carla) Gable of Lexington, and Dwight (Charlotte) Gable of Irmo; grandsons, P.J. Jacobs and Jackson Jacobs; and her dog Chester.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Rhett Carter Jacobs.
The family is at her home where they will receive guests.
Arrangements for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
