A memorial service to honor Brittany’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 11th at One Harbor Church in Morehead City, officiated by Andrew Midgett. The family will receive friends following the service.

Brittany was born on October 8, 1987, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to Elizabeth McCormick and David Pearl. At an early age, Brittany moved to and was raised in Morehead City, North Carolina.

She had a love for music, soccer, cheerleading, and being with her friends and siblings. She enjoyed family trips, camping, the beach, concerts, and summer visits with her father and many of her relatives in New Hampshire.

Brittany was a 2006 graduate of West Carteret High School and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Meredith College in 2010. She loved caring for others and worked in the healthcare field for many years. Brittany was a member of First United Methodist Church through her childhood and later found One Harbor Church in Morehead City, where her faith and fellowship grew into an important part of her life.

It was in their high school years when Brittany met the love of her life, Grant. They married on October 7, 2012. Together they were blessed with three wonderful boys. She treasured every moment with Grant and her boys creating countless memories together. From trips to the park, days spent on the boat and water, to blueberry and strawberry picking, field trips, holidays, and cheering at every sporting event she could, Brittany never missed an opportunity to be there. She especially loved family vacations in the mountains, where she found peace and joy in the beauty surrounding her.

To her family and friends, Brittany will be remembered for her love, laughter, and the way she poured her heart into her family. A devoted wife, loving mother, a cherished daughter and sister, and a true warrior, her unwavering faith left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Brittany was the visionary founder of “Let’s Make Pink Just a Color,” a local breast cancer awareness walk that has grown into a beacon of hope and community support. She inspired countless lives through her determination, compassion and advocacy, reminding all who knew her that strength and beauty can be found even in the hardest battles.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Grant, and their three sons, Cormick, Maverick, and Hendrick; parents, Elizabeth McCormick and Perry Milliman of Morehead City, NC and David and Betsy Pearl of Portsmouth, NH; maternal grandmother, Carol Newbury of Portsmouth, NH; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Sandy McCormick of Kittery, ME; paternal grandmother, Lee Pearl of Greenland, NH; and siblings, Mitchell Melkonian of Morehead City, NC, Sarah McCollum (David) of Cary, NC, Jordan Augenstein of Havelock, NC, and Olivia and Bradley Pearl of Portsmouth, NH; in-laws, Kevin and Sheri Kelley of Newport, NC; sister-in-law, Stephanie Jones (Kevin) of Newport, NC; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored her.
