Broderick Mario Fields (Mike), age 63 a long-time resident of
Round Lake Beach, Il, transitioned
peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. He was born March 16,1959 in
Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his loving family. Beloved Husband of Johanna Fields (Bonilla), whom he married August 16, 2003, loving father of Danielle Fields & Richard Fields, loving bonus father of Angel (Sherie) Sanchez, Gregorio (Simone) Bonilla, Rafael (Brittany) Russell, loving Godfather of Yammile Estrada. Beloved grandfather of Narya Sanchez, Namora Sanchez, Angel Sanchez Jr., Adrian J. Bonilla, Ralo R. Russell, and Great Grandfather of Gelani Dixson. Beloved brother of Roderick Clayborn, Jacqueline Clayborn, and Avivian (Bernard) Hayford.
Broderick had a host of cousins, sister In laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews along with many
special friends that he cherished with so much love. Honorable mention to Barbara Phelps and Janet Denman. Broderick served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired as a HM1. He later attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration and graduated Class of 2000. He established a career in Finance at Winchester House for 13 years. He left Winchester for an opportunity at The Sedgebrook Senior Living facility where he worked in Finance for 10 years specializing in Medicaid billing. He was cherished by all his co-workers.
Broderick was an avid sports fanatic honorable teams were Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Cubs. He enjoyed camping with family, had a love for music of all genres. Broderick recently retired to enjoy what he loved most which was to travel alongside his lovely spouse. They enjoyed many travel destinations which included his love of cruises.
The love Broderick shared with everyone he encountered was so genuine and greatly received. He was a man of many family gatherings and ensured everyone in his presence was welcomed. He was a kind natured man, skilled in the art of conversation. A devoted husband and provider of his family. Broderick leaves a legacy of love, loyalty and laughter and he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is predeceased by his parents, Effie & Clethodis Clayborn; aunt, Aver Fields, and granddaughter,
Arianna Brewton.
Broderick's visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street,
Waukegan, IL 60085. His prayer service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, IL 60048. For more information, please call, 847-623-3730.
