George Fields Obituary
Born to Valeria B Mabry (Canton, OH)and George A Fields(Akron, OH) on April 27, 1964, and preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Dr. Laura Louise Fields (Smith) of Seattle, WA. George grew up in Canton, Ohio, and graduated from Bowling Green State University and the University of Oregon School of Law.
George is survived by his daughter, Raven Brazil Fields of Sacramento, and his sister, Alicia Fields, and brothers, Stacey Fields (Canton, OH), Wesley Fields (District Heights, MD). He leaves a legacy of loved ones who called him uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and colleague.
He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of life will be held at the East Lawn Funeral Home in Elk Grove, CA. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating your time or resources to your local food bank, ACLU, or National Park Foundation.

I remember George so fondly from law school and the years afterward when we both were young attorneys in Portland, Oregon. He was funny, kind, bright and caring. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

George has represented me for several years in an infuriating and difficult SSD case. He was always kind and thoughtful in his dealings with me. We just received a favorable decision today (not a final decision but a remand - which in my case is the most favorable result possible for the moment). I am sorry he won't know that his hard work continues to pay off. He was a hard working and very nice man and stuck with me through many setbacks. My condolences to those who loved him.
