Brooks Schaa

Brooks William Schaa, infant son of Carson and Sarah (Kipp) Schaa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 also at Heritage Funeral Home. Brooks Schaa was born June 7, 2025 in Sioux Falls, SD to Carson and Sarah (Kipp) Schaa. He was exactly 24 weeks at the time of his birth. Although he was only with us for a short time, he was loved by many and touched countless lives. He was small, but mighty. He loved to give the NICU nurses a run for their money. He was a fighter with a feisty but sweet personality. The nurses loved to comment on his dark head of hair and lengthy, blonde eyelashes. Brooks is survived by: his parents, Carson and Sarah of Sioux Falls, his grandparents, Jerome and Barb Kipp of Montrose and Rick and Lori Schaa of Ashton, IA; his great-grandparents, Adele Kipp of Montrose, Muriel Schaa of Ashton, IA and Lois Hagemann of Madison, SD as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Roger Kipp, Gordon Hagemann, Robert Schaa and Dorothy and Hap Dykstra.
