Randy Schaa

Randy Schaa, 64, of Webster City died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Community Church of Kamrar. Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Randy Lynn Schaa, son of Harold and DeLoris (Huisman) Schaa, was born April 9, 1959 in Story City. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1977. On October 28, 1978, Randy was united in marriage to Kim Michelle Hamilton. To this union, 3 children were born, Nikki, Mike and Dan. Prior to his accident, Randy was a farmer, raising crops and hogs on his family farm outside of Kamrar. He also worked for United Cooperative.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kim; children, Nikki (Matt) Ehn of Webster City, Mike (Andrea) Schaa of Longwood, FL, Dan (Shelby) Schaa of Kamrar; grandchildren, Caroline, Henry, and Lauren Ehn; Kendall and Jaxon Schaa; Addy, Izzy and Max Schaa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Merle and Carol Hamilton of Webster City brother, Keith (Sonia) Schaa of Homosassa, FL; sisters, Judy Watne of Clarion, Brenda (Dean) Peterson of Hampton, brother-in law, Pat (Dorothy) Hamilton, sister-in-law Kathy (Tim) Anderson, sister-in-law Krisanne (John) Jordan, brother-in-law Andy (Sophie Phillips) Hamilton and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Sharon Schaa, sister-in-law Rita Hamilton, and brother-in-law Karl Watne.
Randy was an athlete most of his life. He loved playing softball, basketball and golf and did so until his shoulders and knees couldn't take it. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and loved to cheer on the black and gold. He was a faithful listener to WHO Radio and was known to call in from time to time, too. Randy served as a 20 year member of the Hamilton County Fair Board of Directors, was a long time Kamrar Lion, served on the Hamilton County Board of Review, the United Co-op board and was a long time member of the Hamilton County Cattlemen. Randy never met a stranger. He loved nothing more than a good visit, whether it was with an old friend or a new acquaintance. Randy had the quickest wit and was always ready with a one-liner or joke. He delighted in making people smile. Randy's greatest joy was making memories with his kids and grandkids. His grandkids fondly remember singing along to "Walking on Sunshine", listening to his Donald Duck impression and sneaking full size Crunch bars from the freezer. He will live on in his most memorable quotes, in his easy laughter, his love for crosswords and trivia and most of all in the love he gave to his family.
