Brown "Brownie" Vann, 79, passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Brownie was born August 8, 1946 in Detroit, Alabama to the late J.B. and Mary Lee Brown Vann. He attended Smithville School and married Donna Frances Pennington on April 26, 1965. Together, Brownie and Frances celebrated 59 wonderful years. Brownie was an avid outdoorsman and the stories live on to this day of his time spent deer hunting with family and friends. A devoted family man, he enjoyed family activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, gardening and tending to his yard. Brownie spent countless hours refilling holes in the yard and driveway that his grandkids and great grandkids dug. He was a friend to many and loved surrounding himself with friends who became family as well. On a rainy day he loved turning on Gunsmoke on the TV for everyone to watch. He was a longtime faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he took pride in keeping the lawn perfectly manacured.
