NEW IPSWICH, NH: Bruce Lincoln Baker, 82, of New Ipswich, NH, formerly of Groton, Massachusetts passed away October 14, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell.
Bruce was born in Dover, New Jersey, on February 12, 1940. A Son of Irving E. and Gladys (Dorman) Baker. He spent his formative years in Ledgewood, New Jersey, graduating from Roxbury High School in 1957. He continued his education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
For nearly 50 years Bruce worked in the Microwave-Defense Industry in various capacities. At the time of his formal retirement, he was Vice President of Sales (USA) at Sivers Semi-Conductors, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. He later emerged as a consultant under his own company; Baker Associates.
He was a member of the Bethel Souhegan Lodge of the Masons in New Ipswich, The Amoskeag Veterans Association, Souhegan Country Club, Association of the Old Crows, and for many years was
a baseball coach in the Groton Youth / Babe Ruth Baseball Leagues. An accomplished musician and entertainer, Bruce played the accordion, organ, and piano. He also gave lessons. In high school, he and his fellow musicians founded the "Tunedusters". He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Anne M. (Ojanen) Baker; his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Ralph and Patricia DiCarlo Baker of Marblehead, MA, two daughters, Lisa Baker-Moretz of Bethlehem, PA, Leslie Baker Surace of Indian Trail, NC and two cherished granddaughters, Meghan Surace and Lillian Surace, also many beloved nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten, his precious felines, Perfect & Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ervin Eugene Baker and Merlin Dorman Baker, and sisters Elizabeth Eugenia Bijou and Hazel Arlene Steer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday. March 11, 2023, at 1 pm in the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte. 119) Townsend Center.
