Bruce W. Barge, 71, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on December 4, 2025. He was born December 9, 1953, in Haynesville, Louisiana, to Elisha and Ethel (Johnson) Barge. Bruce grew up in Louisiana and graduated from Shongaloo High School in 1971.

On March 23, 1976, he married the love of his life, Beverly (Williams) Barge. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage-a partnership defined by deep devotion, laughter, and a lifetime of shared adventures. Bruce cared for Beverly with unwavering love and was a proud and loyal husband. They traveled extensively across the United States, often taking long car rides simply for the joy of being together. Their trips to Alaska, which they drove to several times, and their visits to Yellowstone National Park were among their most cherished memories. They did everything side by side, and their bond was an example of lasting commitment.

Bruce was a good, loving and reliable father that the family could always count on.

Bruce spent his career in the banking business beginning in the late 1970s. He served in management roles and ultimately became Vice President of Consumer Lending in Anchorage, Alaska.

He enjoyed hunting caribou, elk, moose, deer, and buffalo. He loved working in his yard and took great pride in keeping it beautiful. He was a gifted storyteller.

Bruce was a member of Clever Methodist Church and served as treasurer for seven years. He and Beverly were known as good neighbors who were always willing to help when needed.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Beverly Barge; his children, Tammi Mixon of Minden, Louisiana; Traci (Dean) Pedersen of Sand Point, Alaska; Shawn (Krissi) Allen of Sterlington, Louisiana; and Barrett (Jennifer) Barge of Palmer, Alaska; his brothers, Jackey Barge and Jerry Barge (Becky); grandchildren Chase, Caitlin, Hayden, Hanna, Grace, Tucker, Carson, Harvey, and Shepherd; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Brian Mixon; and his brother, George Barge.

Bruce will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and the devotion he showed to his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Old Shongaloo Cemetery, Shongaloo, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral.

Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri.
