Bruce Elton Butts

Bruce Elton Butts of Holly, age 81, passed away, Friday, September 26, 2025 at his home in Holly. Bruce was born in 1944 in Goodrich, MI. He was the son of the late Lester Clinton Butts and Cora Margarite Judson. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Angelika and brothers, Ward (Bea) Butts, Wayne (Velma) Butts, Neil (Venona) Butts, Glen (Shirley) Butts. He is survived by his son, Eric Greene of Sterling Heights, sister Leah (Fred) Dumas of Holly and brothers, Brian (Ella Jane) Butts of Holly and Lynn (Donna) Butts of Rose City as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bruce served in the US Army from 1965-1967. Honorably discharged as Specialist 4. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter maintenance crewman with the 15th transportation Corps. Battalion 1st Calvary Division.
He worked for Ford Motor Company over 30 years at the Rawsonville, MI plant, retiring in 1998, after which he enjoyed riding his bicycle each day. He loved keeping track of all the items he would find on his rides and would write each one down. His other interests, included his tractor and he was great at repairing mechanical items. He could also be found watching women's tennis and old westerns. Bruce was also a member of the VFW.
Burial honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
