Bruce Grantz Obituary
Beloved husband to his late wife, Susan, since November 29, 1963. Loving dad to Kim Kowalczyk, Cindy Grantz, and Bruce Grantz Jr. Proud grandfather to Trevor, Nicholas, and Collin. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Grantz and Donald Grantz, and his sisters, Shirley West and Sylvia Metropoulos, and sister-in-law, Nancy Doran. Dearest brother-in-law to Marjorie Guy and Margaret Starosciak. He was also well loved by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and cherished friends.
His family was his love in life; he enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and riding his Harley Davidson.
Bruce was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School. He was a skilled tradesman as a maintenance welder for Ford Motor Company at the Wayne Assembly Plant. Bruce was a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge. Bruce attained the 32nd degree in Freemasonry. The 32nd degree is a high honor that recognizes a Mason's commitment to the highest ideals of Freemasonry. In November of 2023, Bruce was honored by the Masons for being an active member of 60 years. He was an active member of the Woodhaven Senior Group and was a former councilman, firefighter, and EMT for the City of Woodhaven. Bruce took great pride as a member of The Shriner's Children's Hospital transportation team, where he assisted in driving the patients and their family members to the regional Shriner's Children's Hospitals in Chicago and Erie, Pennsylvania.
He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Trenton Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. Trenton, MI 48183. There will be a masonic service held during the evening of visitation at 7:00 pm. On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, there will be a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Trenton Chapel. There will be visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to the start the of the service; Pastor Chris Ruehle will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
