Bruce (Pete) Howard Record, 82 of Palm Springs, California passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Pete was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 30, 1943 to Robert F. Record and Virginia A. Record. He lived there his first nine years of life and moved to Dallas, TX. Over the next decade he built lifetime friendships, finished his education and participated in the ROTC program there. Afterwards, he joined the Naval reserves and later served on the U.S.S. Enterprise as part of the Fighting 92 Silver Kings squadron during the Vietnam War.

In 1974, he married Lynetta K. Sternberger. After receiving an offer from Redken Labs, they relocated to Southern California where he began a 40 year journey in the Beauty Supply Industry. He started out in field sales where his passion, charisma, natural sales abilities and dedication eventually opened doors in both Regional and National Sales Management. During these roles, his most treasured memories were found in the mentoring relationships with so many peers and friends. His career culminated in his retirement after serving as the President for the West Coast Beauty Supply Company.

In his retirement years in Palm Springs, Pete developed new passions and loves. These included home remodeling, honing his golf game and spending time entertaining friends and family throughout the years. These each brought new memories and valued relationships into this special chapter of his life.

Pete is preceded in death by both parents and his beloved brother, Willard (Bill) Record. He is survived by his wife Lynetta Record, children, Kelly Grim and Michael (Meredith) Record, grandchildren, Kaytlyn (Nick) Kalapos, Kristoffer (Mitzi) Grim, Kody (Amber) Grim, and Evan and Emma Record, great-grandchildren, Conrad and Dax Kalapos, Makaela and Kamryn Grim and Jasper Grim.

As an honor to Pete's wishes, the family will gather later this year for a Celebration of Life in Florida. In lieu of flowers, Pete's wishes would be for contributions to be made to either of two organizations that had special meaning to him (Wounded Warriors, Tunnel 2 Towers)
