Donald Robert Record passed away surrounded by family and friends on August 01, 2025, to be reunited with the love of his life.

Donald was born on November 23, 1927, in Rock Island Illinois to A.J and Nellie ( McClone) Record. In 1943, A.J. accepted a job at the F.H. Buhl Club and moved the family to Sharon PA. While attending Sharon High School, Don met his love, Ruth Eileen Jones.

After graduating in 1945, Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later that year entered active duty. After basic training at Bainbridge Maryland, he was assigned to a destroyer squadron where he remained in active duty until his honorable discharge in 1949. Don attended Youngstown State University where he graduated in 1950. After graduating he began teaching at Brookfield High School in Brookfield Ohio. In 1952, he received his master's degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington PA. Don and Ruth settled on Golf Drive in Brookfield, in a house built by he and brother-In-Law Ted Carlin, where they raised their six children. Don left teaching and went into the training divisions in various companies before settling at U.S. Steel where he worked as the Safety Engineer and Supervisor of Training. When the U.S. Steel Youngstown works shut down in 1980, he took a job at the plant in Mckeesport PA, and relocated to the Pittsburgh area. When the plant closed in 1985, Don was eligible for retirement at 58 but chose to take a job as senior consultant for U. S. Steel in Jakarta Indonesia until 1987. When returning back he and Ruth settled back in Brookfield.

Don and Ruth raised their children in a very happy and loving home. Eileen Dawn Myers (Darrell), Vickie Jean Kindler (Albert), Timothy Jay (Liz) Matthew Record, Beth Anne and Donald Thomas (Billiebeth).

They were blessed with 11 wonderful grandchildren, Shani Weber (Kevin), Maggie Viccari ( Bill), Adam Myers (Heather), Jason Kindler (Amanda), Courtney Kindler (Dan), Nikki Graves (Gregg), Donald Record (Ashley), Alex Record (Tyler), Abigail Record, Andreas Gemellas and Savannah Camposano.

Ruth and Don were gifted with many great grandchildren: Emily (Gage), Michael (Emilia), Isaiah, Kaleb, Emiley Isabella, Alexis, Aiden, AnnaSophia, Matthew, Julia, Jay, Presley, Jackson, Layla, Tobias, Thea, Isaiah, Phoenix and Adalynn.

Great Great Grandchildren: Oaklee, Aliah, Jonah and Parker.

Don had many nieces and nephews that he considered his own along with their children.

Don was blessed with his siblings Phyllis (Steve) Parkany and brother Richard.

Always in his heart were his brother in law Steve Parkany and sister in law Jane Noie.

With too many grand doggies and great grand doggies to mention.

Besides Don's biological family, he had a second family in his church. He was a very active member of St. Thomas and Don's family has gotten so much love and support during these hard times as well as when Ruth passed. Don was also very active with the Knights of Columbus, and he volunteered to read the local newspapers to the blind on the radio through the Goodwill.

Donald will be welcomed home in the embrace of his love Ruth, parents, A.J & Nellie, sister Phyllis, his sister in law Gladys Carlin, brother in laws Sydney, Walter, Ted, A brother-In-Law, Roger and his dear great grand daughter Alexis.
