Bruce Retter

Bruce K. Retter, 90, passed away on April 22, 2025 at Spruce Manor. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette (Amatucci) Retter. They married on July 15, 1978, and shared 46 years of love and wonderful memories.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Lysle and Lucille (Rothfuss). He graduated Bucthel High School in Akron, OH, and attended from Miami of Ohio in Oxford, OH. He worked at Yuasa Battery, Inc. as a sales manager and later as Vice President. He retired March 1999.
Bruce loved his family, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing golf. Bruce also loved to travel, and enjoyed his time living in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Also, we moved to Aiken, SC 2006. We absolutely loved Aiken. After 14 yrs, in Aiken it was time to move back home to Reading.
In addition to the love of his life, Antoinette, he is survived by his children: Michael Retter, Karen Townsley (Bill), Nancy McLennand (Rich) and Timothy Retter; his grandchildren Michael Retter, Jr., Matthew Retter, Will Townsley (Kelly), Weston, Allison, and Megan Townsley; as well as his great grandchildren, Quinn and Onyx. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia "Ginny" Kung

A Celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
