With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we share the tragic and unexpected passing of Bryley Richard Langford, age 34, on July 15, 2025. His loss leaves a void that words can barely begin to fill.
Born to Steven and Tonya on January 4th of 1991, Bryley was one of a kind - a man with a heart as big as his laugh and a personality that lit up every room he entered. He was such a hard worker and he never hesitated to help someone in need, whether it was a close friend or a total stranger. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew he'd give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Bryley's legacy of assisting others extends beyond his immediate actions, as he continues to facilitate life-saving and life-enhancing organ donations.
Blessed with five children, he focused on providing for them, finding immense joy in his role as their father.
He was also a true prankster - always ready with a joke, a trick, or a stunt that had everyone doubled over in laughter (and sometimes watching their backs). He had a gift for making life a little more fun, a little less serious, and a lot more memorable.
And then there was the singing. Loud, proud, and usually off-key, Bryley sang like no one was listening - even though everyone was. His voice might not have made it to The Voice, but his fearless joy made every off-pitch note unforgettable.
Though his time here was heartbreakingly brief, Bryley lived with a vibrancy and kindness that will echo through the lives he touched. His memory will live on in every act of selflessness, every prank and every off-key chorus sung at the top of one's lungs.
Bryley is preceded in death by his son, Coldyn Langford; his sister, Haley Langford; his father, Steven Langford (Lowder); his maternal grandparents, Martha Beal and Robert Coursel; his paternal grandparents, Richard Lowder, Patricia Wilczak and Johnny Langford.
Bryley is survived by his beloved family; his children, Lilyanna, Brayden, Ryleighanna, Bryson, Aryanna, and mother to his children, Kayla Meeks. Surviving family also includes his mother, Tonya Langford; his siblings Robert Langford, William Langford (Mississippi), Britni Langford, Bradly (Jennifer) Langford, Damion (Jessica) Langford; his Aunt Tracie (Martin) Mejia, his Uncles Richard Langford and Michael Langford of Mississippi. All loving him dearly and will forever carry him in their hearts.
Services to celebrate Bryley's life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100. A visitation and viewing will be held from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. All are welcome to join in honoring the life of a man whose love, laughter, and light left an unforgettable mark.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a story, play a prank in his memory, or simply help someone in need - just like Bryley always did. "GONE TOO SOON, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. MAY HIS VOICE, HIS LAUGHTER AND HIS LOVE LIVE ON IN ALL OF US."
