Buddy Lynne Ervin, a treasured soul known for his kind heart and dedicated work ethic, passed away at the age of 72 on February 9, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on August 18, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, and lived a life that reflected the virtues of diligence, loyalty, and joy in simple pleasures.
Buddy was a proud high school graduate who found his calling in the world of cars, turning his passion into a lifelong career as an auto mechanic. Known for his skilled hands and honest service, he worked at various shops around Baltimore and most recently Kingwood, WV, earning the trust and friendship of those he worked with and served. His colleagues will remember him not only for his expertise under the hood but also for the warmth and camaraderie he brought to the workplace every day.
Raised by his late parents, Harold Ervin and Kathleen Helmick, Buddy was gifted with a strong sense of family and community that he carried throughout his life. He shared strong bonds with his beloved son, Buddy J. Ervin and his family, of Pylesville, MD, who survives him. The legacy of Buddy's generous spirit and tenacity will live on in his son, who shares his father's love for family and dedication to personal excellence.
Buddy was an big supporter of his Baltimore sports teams. His enthusiasm for the games was infectious, and his unwavering devotion to his teams was a reflection of the loyalty and spirit he extended to every aspect of his life. Whether it was cheering on the Ravens on a crisp autumn day or rooting for the Orioles on a warm summer evening, Buddy's love for his teams was as steady as his dependable presence in the lives of those he loved.
While he has moved on from this world, the impact he made during his time here will continue to resonate with all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In his life, Buddy demonstrated how to embrace the simple joys, work hard with passion, and devote oneself to family and friends. He met life's challenges with quiet strength and its triumphs with humble pride. To have known him was to know someone who genuinely cared, someone who could be relied on without question.
Buddy Lynne Ervin's enduring spirit and the memories of his laughter and love will be cherished forever by all who had the good fortune to be a part of his life. As we bid him farewell, we take comfort in knowing that he lived life fully, loved deeply, and left a mark of pure goodness on the world.
