Clyde
Buddy Lee Kindred, 94, of Clyde, went to be with the Lord Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home in the loving care of his family. Buddy was born February 27, 1931, in Clyde, the son of the late Earnest Kindred and Helen Zellers.
He was a 1949 graduate of Clyde High School and enlisted in the US Army. After his honorable discharge December 18, 1952, he enlisted in the National Guard until his honorable discharge July 26, 1957.
Buddy had worked at Whirlpool Corp, finishing his career in transportation and traffic control management. Buddy was active in the Clyde community; he served as a Boy Scout Leader, Clyde Auxiliary Police and chairman of Easter Seals, to name a few. He also worked part-time for Sandusky County Sheriff's Department, having attended the People's Law School March 1, 1989.
Buddy enjoyed attending and watching all sporting events, especially football, basketball and car racing. His greatest interest was his love of horses. He spent many weekends at horse shows and trail riding, along with weekend camping. Buddy also enjoyed his artwork and sharing many projects with family and friends. In addition to painting, he enjoyed leather crafts and e-mailing family and friends on his computer.
On June 20, 1952, Buddy married the late Joyce M. Cleveland and was married for nearly 60 years. He is survived by his four sons, Scott L. (Julie) Kindred of Cameron, North Carolina, Richard D. (Jackie) Kindred of Fremont, Jeffery L. Kindred of Clyde, and Kevin P. (Dee) Kindred of Clyde; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Recker Funeral Home. 218 S. Main St., Clyde. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Forest Kirchenbauer of Grace Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Firelands Hospice.
