Byron W. Rikard, age 53, of Leesville, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born on November 1, 1970, and was the son of the late Layman W. and Freeda Ruth Rikard. Byron was a hard worker and was known as a gentle giant to most. He was a doer of all and master of none except his famous barbeque. Byron was the owner/operator of Rikard's Roadside BBQ in Ridge Spring. He enjoyed chicken cooking contests, especially during the Poultry Festival where he and his wife had won multiple contests. Byron never meet a stranger and was known by many who will greatly miss him. To know him was to love him!
Byron is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kathy Rikard; his children, Courtney Hildebrand (Jason), Alisa Seawell, and Brett Seawell (Veronica); as well as his grandchildren, Greyson and Hudson Hildebrand, and Scarlet and Liam Seawell. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
The service for Byron will be held at 4 o'clock on Sunday, March 10th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3 until 4 o'clock at the funeral home.
