In Loving Memory of Charles David Fisher
Charles David Fisher (David) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 10, 2024.
David was born on March 14, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised by Charles E. Fisher and Betty M. Fisher (née Wynneparry) in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He graduated from Seaholm High School in 1967 and while in school he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. David attended Northern Michigan University before enlisting in the US Air Force in 1969 at the age of twenty.
During his military service, David served as a Sergeant and Security Alert Team Leader with the Strategic Air Command, stationed in England, Spain, and the United States. He completed his service in 1973.
After returning home from service, David dedicated 42 years to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He started out in Patient Transportation, where he met the love of his life, Colleen. While working, he attended Oakland Community College, later graduating from Oakland University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Management, specializing in Computer and Information Technology. After completing his degree, he transitioned to the Information Services department at Beaumont, where he worked until his retirement in 2011.
Outside of work, David found joy in spending time with his family, particularly on the beautiful lakes of Northern Michigan. He cherished fishing, boating, camping, and simply being in nature. David had a lifelong passion for music, and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing the guitar. He loved listening to his favorite artists, including Dire Straits, the Traveling Wilburys, Dan Fogelberg, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and Bob Seger. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, Michigan and he volunteered as a tutor for Alcott Elementary School in Pontiac, Michigan.
David is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas E Fisher (Janet). He is survived by his loving wife Colleen, his sister Nancy, his daughter Erin Fisher (Patrizio Urciuoli), and his son Matthew Fisher (Jordan Fisher). He was a cherished grandfather to Reese and Brynne Fisher, and Leonardo and Niccolo Urciuoli. He is survived by his devoted sisters-in-law Diane Bloyer (John), Patricia Tefo, and Kathy Glaros (Tim). He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his faithful dog Emma.
David leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories which will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17th from 4-7 p.m. with the service on Wednesday, December 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Wm.
