Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park on Feb. 7, 2023.
Loving son, brother, grandson and friend to all, Caden "Bubba" Alan Woods, age 19, left us unexpectedly on February 1, 2023, in
Austin, Texas. On October 1, 2003, in
Austin, Texas, Tracy N. Love, Ron A. Woods, and sister Kyla M. Woods, were blessed with his birth.
Caden is survived by his parents Ron and Casey Woods, Tracy and Mark Love; sisters Kyla Woods, Emma Love, and Grace Love; uncles Patrick Woods, and James Woods Jr.; aunt Kaitlyn Gregory; grandparents Keith Gregory, Cathy Gregory, and Sam and Laurie Castle; great grandmother Peggy Dodson; cousins Nicole McDermott, Emmy Lopez, Kace Coffman, and Brian Welch; his beloved puppy Kano, and numerous extended and bonus family.
Preceding Caden in death is his grandparents Mable and Jerry Wall, James Woods Sr., Cheryl Gregory, Ben and Anne Love; great grandparents Helen and John "Jack" Gregory, and Robert Dodson.
He had such a love for life, his friends and family, and his hobbies. Music was very important to him, leading him to a love for playing his guitars and harmonica, attending concerts with his family, and rocking out with his sister. Caden enjoyed many different bands and genres of music, but his favorite concert was seeing Megadeth with his father and sister, and his favorite band was Alice in Chains.
In his earlier years, at the young age of four, he started playing football with his doting father leading him as a coach. He played for many years, participating in choir, pole vault and basketball during his offseason. It was during his time in sports and attending Cedar Park High School that he found brotherhood and made many lifelong friends that he held very close to his heart.
He loved cooking with his mother, especially her homemade mac & cheese, movie and game nights, watching UFC, sports, hunting, skateboarding, barbecuing, working on cars with his father, staying up late talking about philosophy and life with his sister, spending time with his friends, playing with his puppy, Kano, and had plans to restore a 1969 Chevelle. It was the simplest moments life offered that he cherished the most.
His brilliance knew no bounds, as he was incredibly intelligent and had a particular talent with mental math. Comedy came naturally to him due to his witty nature and unmatched ability to find humor in everything around him. Taking life seriously was never an option. He believed life was too short to not have fun and laughed often. In his presence, even the darkest and coldest days were bright and warm. He lived his life to the fullest and did it his way.
His sister, Kyla, meant the world to him and he often boasted about her to his friends. They shared an unbreakable bond for 19 years that one only hopes to experience even for a short moment. As best friends, they were side by side through it all. When they were kids, they loved riding dirt bikes together and going to summer camps. They rode horses, took cooking classes, went fishing with their father, skied, and tie-dyed with their mother. When they were in school, they would run to each other and hug in the hallways as their class lines passed each other, then walk home side by side to play outside. As he grew into a handsome, strong young man, and was no longer so little, he became her protector and never let someone get away with treating her wrong. When something wasn't going right, he was there to lend a helping hand, not just for her, but to anybody who needed it. The countless memories they made are everlasting and timeless. They looked up to each other and learned from one another.
To his friends he was the life of the party and always brought his high energy, but the side of him his family loved the most was his softer side. The side that revealed his love and respect for nature and her balance, his love for days surrounded by his parents and siblings, and the solace a rainy day brought and the joy he felt in the sunshine. To know Caden was to know unconditional love. He was a great listener and often sought to understand more than he spoke. He was selfless and gave the best gifts. The greatest of those gifts being his warm hugs, kind and honest words, and his willingness to put his life on the line for those he loved and vowed to protect.
Though the time Caden spent with us here was short and will never be enough, we take his memory with us and celebrate the incredible person he was. He found peace in his faith and would expect those around him to find comfort knowing he is home with God where he belongs. Those who knew him will never be the same without him because to know such a great loss, was to have had such an immense blessing. He is so deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
We love you so much, our sweet blue-eyed boy.
