Cairo Serenity Svonavec, 16, of Southington, OH, went to Jesus to be in Heaven August 17, 2025. The world became brighter when she was born April 21, 2009, in Ravenna, OH, to Joseph "Joe" and Jayme (Mitchell) Svonavec.

She began her young life creating smiles and filling hearts with happiness and love. Cairo was always delighted with simple things, such as, finding little toads, roller skating, swimming with sharks and dolphins, and of course, smelling the roses. She loved boating at Lake Milton and swimming with her cousins, and Cairo enjoyed bonfires, camping, and riding around on her go-cart and four-wheeler as she yelled and screamed with excitement. You always knew when Cairo was around because she lived loud; fully, unconditionally, and as authentically as only she could live.

Cairo was always the light in the darkness. She was brave, adventurous, and she loved surprises. Cairo made time to look for joy in all the little things every day; she took nothing for granted. Being strong for everyone around her and spreading kindness came to Cairo naturally.

She will forever be missed by her parents, Joe and Jayme Svonavec; paternal grandparents, Mark & Mary Jane Svonavec; maternal grandparents, John & Susan Mitchell and Tom & Christine Collins; a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; her first love, Jonathan; many friends, and her precious animals, Moonie, Sarge, and Trooper.

Cairo joined her family in Heaven, who lovingly embraced her, including her grandmother, Jacqueline Collins, and her cousin, Amelia Neer.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the near future. Please periodically check www.carlsonfuneralhomes.com for updates. Care for Cairo was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
