Calvin Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farone & Son Inc. Funeral Home - Syracuse on Jan. 30, 2026.
Calvin Tyrone Perry Sr., 56, tragically passed away suddenly of health complications on January 15, 2026 in Fayetteville, NY. Born May 7, 1969, in Syracuse, NY, Calvin Sr. was a loving and devoted father to Calvin Perry Jr., a loving brother, an adorned nephew, a caring uncle to several nieces and nephews, a loyal cousin and a trusted friend to many acquaintances.

Calvin Sr. was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and he was committed to remain entrenched in the lives of those he cared deeply for. An example of this is that Calvin chose to continue to in Syracuse, to remain close to Calvin Jr. and his sister Veronica.

Calvin Sr. graduated from Morrisville Community College with a Liberal Arts and Humanities Associate's Degree and he committed his life early on to helping others. He also held many health related certifications; CPR Interventions and IV Therapy, SKIP Training and AMAP certifications, to name a few. Calvin Sr. worked in the social services field as a Health Care professional to assist the mentally and developmentally disabled, for over 20 years. He was greatly respected by his peers and clients at his last employer, Liberty Resources, where he worked as a Direct Support Professional. Calvin Sr. will be greatly missed by the staff and his clients.

In the spirit of God and "love thy neighbor" and "treat others the way you would like to be treated", values Calvin Sr. lived by, it's evident that he had a calling that extended beyond himself. This was exemplified in his commitment to his career, as it takes a special person to work in his chosen profession. Calvin Sr. was one such person.

Calvin Sr. loved only one thing more than he loved his son Calvin Jr., and that was his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Calvin Sr. had a Sportster 883, that he loved to ride, that is, whenever the Syracuse, NY weather cooperated. He was also an avid Eagles fan, and he found a lot of joy in recapping the Eagles-Cowboys game scores with his brother, Raymond, a Cowboys fan.

Calvin Sr. was preceded in death by parents, Daisy and Robert Perry; foster mother, Mamie Stokes; brother, Edward Perry; sister, Valerie Perry; grandparents, Alque and Willie Mae Allen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calvin Sr. leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Calvin Perry Jr.; brother, Raymond (Sherion) Perry; sister, Veronica Perry; nephews, Brycen, Maleek, Maheeb; nieces, Brittainy, Ashia, Nay Nay, Savi, Josephine; aunts, Mary, Vera, Barbara; uncles, James, Delton, Richard; mentor, Godfrey Stokes; and several cousins and many dear friends.
