Calvin "Cie-yah" Savoy Sr.

Saint Martinville, LA – A home-going celebration of life for Mr. Calvin Savoy, Sr., 75, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Mallalieu United Methodist Church (121 W. Hyacinth Street) with Rev. Robert E. Johnson, Sr. officiating.
Interment will be private.
Visitation hours will be observed at Mallalieu United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, beginning at 8:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Calvin was a native of St. Martinville, La, and a resident of Lafayette, LA. He transitioned at 11:40 A.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA.
Calvin was born on February 19, 1947, to the late Clarence Savoy and Josephine Lewis Savoy. He was Veteran of the United States Army where he traveled and seen many places. He was a former policeman and owned his own transportation company until he retired. He enjoyed horse racing events.
To cherish his fond memory he leaves his former wife, Rosa Moorman of Ronoake, VA; four sons: Clarence Perrio of Lafayette, LA, Brandon Perrio (Delania) of Dallas, TX, Calvin Savoy, Jr. of Ronoake, VA and Kelvin Batiste of Saint Martinville, LA; three daughters: Theresa Savoy of Waldorf, MD, Roshanda Perrio and Brandie Perrio of Lafayette, LA; four brothers: Christopher Savoy, Leslie Savoy, Vaughn Savoy of Saint Martinville, LA and Clark Savoy of San Francisco, CA; two sisters: Charlotte Durand and Earlene Savoy Phearse both of Saint Martinville, LA; one godchild: Erica Robert of Saint Martinville, LA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence Savoy and Josephine Lewis Savoy; three sisters: Barbara Savoy, Eleanor Rose Savoy, and Lorraine Savoy; two brothers: Nolan Savoy and Gregory Savoy; long-life companion: Evelyn Rose Drake.
Active pallbearers are Brandon Perrio, Clarence Perrio, Christopher Savoy, Brandon Tillman, Rodney Phearse, and Clark Savoy.
Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Savoy, Jr., John Francis, Vaughn Savoy, Kawaski Drake, James Jacquet, Jr., Leslie Savoy, Andre Phearse, Kelvin Batiste, Kylon Mitchell, and Graylon Thibodeaux.
