Cam Samuel Nelson, passed away on January 11, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born on July 16, 1946, in Jackson County, Kentucky, Cam Samuel was an incredible soul whose vivid spirit and unique qualities have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him. A great movie buff, who found joy in playing Bingo and watching Jeopardy,
Cam Samuel lived a life filled with passion and enthusiasm that was contagious to those around him. He valued his role as the family historian, and he treasured his dog, Crickett.
Cam was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Nelson and Lucy Napier Nelson; brothers, Eldon Nelson, John Nelson, T.J. Nelson; and by his sister, Marie Joyce Nelson.
He is survived by his nieces; Tammy Sapienza, and Joby Oakley; nephews, Johnny Nelson, Ronnie Nelson, Eldon Nelson, and Cam Daniel Nelson; and by numerous great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12noon until the time of his funeral service at 1 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
Burial will follow in the Cunnigan Cemetery in Jackson County, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Nelson, Eldon Nelson, Johnny Nelson, Tammy Sapienza, Cam Nelson, and Joby Oakley.
