Cameron Leroy Evans, Jr., age 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2025.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. Evans resided in LaPlace for the past 40 years. He's a veteran of the United States Army. He was also the proud owner and operator of his electrical business for over 50 years and remained semi-retired in recent years. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft, Cameron built lasting relationships with clients and friends throughout the community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cameron Leroy Evans, Sr., his beloved wife of 30 years, Susan Sabala Evans, and his son, Brad Evans.
He is survived by his loving children, Jason Evans and Cameron Evans III (Brandy); his mother, Ruby Carter Evans; his brother, Carl Evans (Cindy); and his cherished grandchildren: Hayley, Sayge, Cameron IV, Jason Jr., Iyan (Kenzlie), Connor, Karli, Haylee, Colby, Colin, and Braxton. He also leaves behind Noah, his great-granddaughter.
His children extend their heartfelt gratitude to Shannon Brewer for her compassionate care during his final days.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, May 1st at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home located at 3827 Canal St. at 2pm. The visitation will begin at 12pm noon.
