Cameron McInerney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dery Funeral Home on Dec. 31, 2025.
Cameron William McInerney, age 21, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and formerly of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, died unexpectedly on December 27, 2025.
Born in Pittsfield on April 28, 2004, Cameron was the son of Michael E. McInerney and Kendal K. Lenihan. He was educated in the local schools and was a 2022 graduate of Taconic High School.
Cam had a deep love for the outdoors and for experiencing the changing seasons. From a young age, he was passionate about motocross and motorcycles. In 2011, at just six years old, he was ranked third nationally in American Motocross-a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Cam also loved cars and driving, often joking that he was happiest going fast and drifting any car he owned.
An accomplished skier, Cam's love for the sport eventually brought him to Utah, where he had been living for the past couple of years. He worked in Park City as a ski instructor, a role that perfectly matched his adventurous spirit. More recently, Cam was proud of his work in marketing and social media outreach for Botero Carts.
Cam had a special love for animals, especially his five cats, and was known for his gentle heart and deep empathy.
Despite his young age, Cam traveled extensively. He drove across the country, visited many National Parks, and loved going on adventures with his fiancée, Serena. Some of his favorite places included Montana, Wyoming, and Maine, but he held a special fondness for Long Island, New York, where he spent many summers as a child.
Cameron is survived by his parents, Michael E. McInerney of Texas and Kendal L. Lenihan of California; and by his fiancée and best friend, Serena Cuevas of Utah. He also leaves his grandparents, Dawn Desnoyers (John Powers) of Pittsfield; Mark (Mimi) Lenihan of Florida; Susan Merrill-Prendable (Jack) of Tennessee; and Ann "Noonie" Magri of Pittsfield; as well as his uncles, Christopher McInerney and Kenny Clairmont, both of Tennessee; his aunt, Sandra Clairmont of New York; and many cousins and friends who will miss Cam dearly.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Mark McInerney, in 2017.
SERVICES: Friends are invited to join Cameron's family for visitation on January 1, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dery Funeral Home.
