In Loving Memory Of
Candice 'Candy' Graham, 79, of Fort Smith, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 23, 1945, in Albany, New York, to Harold and Ormal Sparling, Candy lived a vibrant and adventurous life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. In the 1960s she worked as a model and, at just 18, famously married a New York City mob bossan extraordinary chapter that became a family legend. A free spirit at heart, she proudly embraced the hippie lifestyle. On July 22, 1968, she married Arthur Allen in Cumberland, Maryland, and later in life was briefly married to Ron Graham.
For nearly 30 years, Candy was a dedicated housekeeper, earning the trust and appreciation of many families. She found joy in simple pleasurescard games, cross-stitching, gardening, and long coffee-fueled conversations. Candy was an animal lover, especially fond of cats and chickens. In her younger years, she was fearless and full of energy, always ready for an adventurewhether hiking, hot air ballooning, or dancing the night away.
Candy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Allen; grandchildren, Amanda Lane (Larry), Matt Rupp, and Andy Rupp; and great-grandson, Noah Lane. She also leaves behind her siblings, Suzanna Davis and Bruce Sawhill, as well as many beloved family members, including Bruce and Kelly, Aimee and Brian, Nikki, Anna, Roxanne, Ethan, Zachary, Vanessa, Sebastian, Malachi, Jonathan, and Jack. She was loved by many friends, including Tereasa and Mark, John and Rome, Toni, Sharon, Susan, Donna, Michael, and Barb.
She was preceded in death by Art Allen, Val Sawhill, Ormal Sawhill, and David Sparling. Candy will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
