Candice "Candy" Lundy James, 68, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1955 in Taylorsville, NC to the late Robert Frank Lunday and Julianna Richey Shaver. Candy was throughout her life a mom to many of her daughter's friends. She had a big ol' heart and was a softy. She never liked the idea of giving up on people. She loved with all her heart and gave it everything she had. She did that up until the very end. She was a fighter and a survivor and will be deeply and sorely missed by those she touched. She is with Jesus now and is not in anymore pain.
In addition to her parents, Candy was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Simpson Cain.
Candy is survived by her siblings, Pamela Smith Wilson of Maryland; Frances Lunday Shepherd of Salisbury; and Julianna "Julie" Lunday Davidson of Canada; daughters, Amy Wagner Bunner (Brian) of Hiddenite, NC; Sharon Albea Brookbank (Larry) of Sophia, NC; and McKenzie James of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren, Eli Bunner, Cayleigh and Justin Brookbank, and Saige Leigh Propostio; great-grandchildren, Eli and Emma Smith, and Kinsley Brookbank. Close friends include: Dennis Finn, Frank Kiker, Pat Kiker, Les and Diane Bunner, Debra Clampitt Gramling, Kathy Hodgson Brown.
There is no service scheduled at this time.
