Cecil Eric Morrison, 62 passed away peacefully on the morning of July 29, 2025 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC after battling colon cancer for eight months.
Eric was born January 6, 1963 in Iredell County. He was a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School. Eric was taught at a very young age the importance of Christ being the center of your life. He has been a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church and Shiloh Church in Concord all of his life. He loved life and his family and friends very much.
Most of his adult life was spent working in the trucking business and most recently worked for Roadrunner Services. He was a member of the Odell Lions Club and the National Bull Riders Association.
Eric was a real cowboy. He stood tall in his western boots and cowboy hat. He loved participating in rodeos in the bull riding and cattle roping divisions. His other interests included deer hunting, dove hunting, dancing, country music, Nascar racing and going to the beach.
Eric is predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Louise Morrison, a brother in law, Don Irvin, and a nephew, Darren Irvin. He is survived by his four sisters, Janice Morrison Barbee, Rebecca Irvin, Gail Mower and Sue York, brother in law Darrell York, Nieces, Carrie Huntley (Hal), Madison Polk (Brandon), Dana Hefner (Jason), Nephews, Edward Hunt, Joshua Mower (Danielle), Dustin Mower (Kari), Great Nieces, Kirsten Hunt, Bennett Grace Hefner, Blythe Hefner, Haden Mower, Rylee Polk, Hadley Polk, and Great-Great niece Kinsley Teno.
Carolina Cremation is serving the family, who will receive friends at Gilwood Presbyterian Church on Tuesday August 5, 2025 from 4:00-4:45 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 5:00 pm.
Memorials may be sent to Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis NC, Gilwood Presbyterian Church Concord, NC or Shiloh Church of Concord, NC
