Captain Thomas (Tom) Joseph Hamilton
USMC (Retired) of Palos Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 16, 2024. Born on April 22, 1942, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Dr. William and Margaret (Miller) Hamilton. Married 40 years to Constance “Connie” (Turbin), father to Margaret “Molly” (Jeremy) Taylor and Patrick (Heather) Hamilton. Papa to Carmen (Benjamin), and Emma. Supreme Papa Tom to Myrra, David, and Madelyn. Beloved brother to Judy (Dick) James, Jane (John) Crubaugh, William (Orene) Hamilton, Kathy (Robert) Rundle and Susan (Steven) Schroeder. Fond Uncle and Cousin to many. Tom attended Campion Jesuit High School (1960) in Prairie Du Chein, Wisconsin, and then Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (1965). Tom was a highly decorated helicopter pilot in his beloved Marine Corps, and a business owner starting Corrugated Systems and Honeycomb Products both in Dolton, Illinois. Tom was an avid golfer, a member of St. Alexander’s parish, as well as the Knights of Columbus. He loved to travel the world with Connie, start squirt gun wars with the neighborhood kids, and play many (good-natured) practical jokes on susceptible family and friends. One of his favorite past-times was spending summers at the lake in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with family. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anne, and wife Constance. Tom will be greatly missed by all.
