Careen Lammar Mann was born July 6, 1981 in Wilmington, Delaware to LaTonya Elizabeth Mann and Chester Lamar Ridgeway. He was called home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Careen received his early childhood education at Penns Grove Carneys Point public school system. He graduated from Penns Grove High School with the class of 2000. He then went on to attend Harris School of Business where he became a medical assistant and worked in several locations until he began his career as a Correctional Officer in 2018. Careen received the Lord at a very young age while a member of Holy Temple Church under the pastorate of his godparents, Bishop Courtney A. Pope and Pastor Audrey Pope.
His memory and love will be cherished by his wife, Kisha Mann, mother LaTonya Mann, father Chester Ridgeway (Kim), sisters Crystal Smith (Anthony), Tazshia Bronson Ridgeway, Teonia Ridgeway Radford (Eric), Teranie Ridgeway, Anika Tuck-Lewis, brother-in-law Jeffrey Sye Jr., and grandmother Delores Mann.
Careen had a special bond with his nephew, Darryl “Debo” Williams, nieces Anaiya, Gabrielle, Danielle and Arielle Smith and nephew Zyan Sye. He also leaves a host of more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Although Careen and Kisha did not have child of their own, his nieces, nephews and pets held a special place in his heart. He loved his wife, Kisha with every ounce of his being. Careen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He also enjoyed being a mentor and he strived to give people the tools needed to succeed, pushing them to be the best they could be. He left an impact on everyone he met. His humor and laughter were infectious. With Careen around, no one was left unhappy. His love of music and singing will continue to be one of our most cherished memories.
His relationship with the Almighty God was like no other. His faith and his trust never wavered. He would praise God anywhere he was and was not ashamed to show it.
