Carl Norman Benson "Wolfie" "Paw Paw Tractor", 74, of Cleburne, Texas passed away on Thursday January 29, 2026 in Cleburne.
He was born February 27, 1951 in Cleburne, Texas to Roy and Pauline (Panill) Benson.
Carl grew up in Rio Vista, Texas, where he helped his parents on their dairy. After his parents quit the dairy business, he spent time helping his father tend to the fields plowing, planting, cutting, and baling hay. Carl spent many summers hauling hay from the fields with family and friends.
He graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1969. Carl loved fishing, hunting, and was also an excellent cook.
Back in the 70's, his friends gave him the nickname "Wolfie" because of his long hair and bushy beard. He used this name as his CB handle for many years. After his first grandson could talk, he gave him the name "Paw Paw Tractor" and all three grandchildren call him this still to this day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pauline Benson; sisters, Billie Jo Richards and Anita "Sissy" Burkhardt; uncle, Buddy Panill; and nephew, Brad Gist.
