Carl E. “Eddie” Brewer, 77 of Ithaca, NY passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at home.
Born December 9, 1948 in Ithaca, NY he was the son of the late John and Mara Longhouse Brewer. Eddie graduated from Ithaca High School in 1966 and was a retired Union Carpenter. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Eddie was a member of the Ithaca VFW Post 961, American Legion Post 221 and the Danby Pirates Club. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Jane Eckert Brewer; two sons, Bryon Brewer of California and Jason Brewer of Ithaca; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Jacqueline Luce and Linda Boynton and his brothers, Richard Brewer and John Brewer.
A Celebration of Eddie’s Life is being planned for the summer at the Ithaca American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca American Legion Building Fund, 1231 Danby Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 or to a charity of one’s choice.
