What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments but what is woven into the lives of others.
Carl Coffey, age 59, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, began his Heavenly Journey Home, on March 8, 2025 while resting at Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky.
Carl was born as the winter days were warming up into spring, on March 1, 1966. He was the blessing of the late William "Bill" Clyde Coffey, and Bonnie Sue Hardin Arthur. He was a proud graduate of Boyd County High School. Carl was handy when it came to fixing things and would spend his days making a living in Maintenance working at several local businesses. Carl was an avid UK fan, and his blood ran blue with love his Wildcats. He was proud to be from the bluegrass state and supported those Cats through thick and thin. He had a gentle heart and loved people. His kind nature was noticeable everywhere he went. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to so many. His absence here on earth will be felt by those who loved him, but his memory will live on through the stories and love he left behind.
Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Barbara Coffey, his children Carl Nathan Coffey and his wife Michelle and Jaclyn Coffey, both of North Carolina, his precious grandchildren, Cavan, Cecelia, and Cohen Coffey, his brother George Arthur and his wife Tracy, and two sisters Candie Hamilton and her husband Tim, and Robyn Picha and her husband Len. Also surviving is his special Aunt JoAnn Rakes, special nieces & nephews, and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his Parents Carl is preceded in death by his Stepfather Ernest Arthur, Sister Debroah Deedrick and Brother Gregory Arthur.
A memorial service to honor the life of Carl will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, beginning at 1:00pm at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Blankenship Officiating. Visitation for friends and family will take place prior to the service from 11am to 1pm.
