Carl Wayne "Bimbo" Cyr, 72, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on August 9, 2025, in Midwest City, OK.

Born on February 12, 1953, in Riverside, California, Carl built a life rooted in hard work, family devotion, and community service. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1971. He went on to complete training in auto mechanics at trade school-laying the foundation for a long and respected career in the automotive industry.

Carl dedicated approximately four decades of his life to United Engines, where he served as a senior mechanic. His expertise and commitment earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. After retiring from United Engines, he continued sharing his knowledge and passion for vehicles by working at O'Reilly Auto Parts for nearly five years.

A man who found joy in both work and leisure, Carl loved spending time under the hood of his Mustang or tinkering with any car that came his way. His hands were rarely idle-he was often found working on projects around the house or casting a line while fishing. These hobbies reflected not only his mechanical skill but also his appreciation for quiet moments and simple pleasures.

Carl was a devoted member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church, where he actively contributed to the church's ministry by managing sound and video operations. His presence was a constant source of support within the congregation.

Above all else, Carl cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Cyr; son, Jeff Cyr; daughter, Kaycee Cyr; grandchildren, Kiarra Dries, Bryce Dries, and Josh Cyr; sisters, Faylene Earnest and Lucy Joiner; as well as many other loving family members and friends who will carry forward his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jean Cyr; his mother, Alice Randall; and his brother, Claude Cyr.

Carl's legacy is one of steadfast love, quiet strength, and unwavering generosity. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need-a true pillar to those around him.

A funeral service will be held at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church, 3600 SE 89th St, in Oklahoma City on August 15, 2025.

May Carl Wayne "Bimbo" Cyr's memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Yesterday

I worked with Carl for 14 years at United Engines. He was one of the guys that trained me. He was always so nice and considerate. Once he started talking it was hard to get him to stop. I remember one time we had to work on a Saturday and the electricity went out. He removed a 9800 out of a frac pump in 4 hours with just hand tools. I´ve never to this day seen a man move so fast with a wrench. I was amazed. I had seen Carl twice since he retired and he had a smile on his face like always. He will be missed by many.
