Carl was born May 10, 1938, in Williamsfield, Illinois, he was the son of the late Carl E. A. Greiert and Lillian M. Greiert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Greiert, one sister, June Bagby, and his best friend, Donald "Shorty" Wyman. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Greiert, of Princeton, West Virginia.
Others left to cherish his memory are his sister, Joyce Nick of Lincoln, Nebraska, his brother, Glenn (Donna) Greiert of Glendale, Arizona, his special family, Doug and Jacki Wyman along with their children, Greg and Sarah, his good friends, Lyle and Marilyn Carpenter, and the folks at Red Apple Restaurant or as Carl called it "Tommy's."
Carl was a farm hand for several years in Williamsfield and Oneida before moving to Kewanee to become a welder and work at such factories as Hysters, Shalco, and Kewanee Boiler Corp; where he retired when they closed their doors permanently.
Favorite past times included watching NASCAR, going to car and tractor shows, and drives in the countryside on the two-lane highway.
Family and friends can honor his life on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 11:00 am in the mausoleum at Pleasant View Cemetery where a graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kewanee Care Nursing Home or Compassus, in Carl's memory. Please leave an online condolence at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
