Carl Owen Noack

Carl Owen Noack of Smithville, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Port Arthur, he made his way through life with quiet strength and a generous heart.
Carl graduated from Austin's McCallum High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for 14 years. He served aboard the USS Wasp and was stationed around the world, including in Cuba, San Francisco, and Chicago. His steady hands and calmness under pressure earned the respect of those around him.
He married Lavonne (Kerlin) Noack in 1956. She was his partner in life, laughter, and the occasional eye roll. Together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage - a bond built on love, patience, and just the right amount of back and forth. Their relationship was the heart of the family and a lasting example of what it means to stick together through it all. They raised three children - Debra, Bryan, and Daryl - and created a home full of energy, laughter, and the good kind of everyday chaos.
Together they built a successful business, Electronics of Austin, and a quiet life that spoke volumes about the kind of man he was: steady, kind, and deeply devoted to those he loved. The business wasn't just his livelihood - it was an extension of his values. Carl worked side by side with his children, teaching them not just how to fix things, but how to take pride in doing things the right way. His grandchildren grew up watching him solder wires and build circuits, often perched on his knee, learning more from his example than any lesson could teach.
Carl had a mind for fixing things - car engines and radios, fencelines and gates, even red Radio Flyer wagons. Whatever it was, he could make it work again. But more than anything, he used that gift to care for the people around him.
He had a soft spot a mile wide for his grandchildren, whose lives were shaped by his patience, his endless stories, and the strength of a man who could lift you - both literally and figuratively - without breaking a sweat. They always knew how proud he was, and how lucky they were to call him theirs.
Carl's life was one well lived and deeply loved. He leaves behind a legacy not just of what he built with his hands, but what he built with his heart: a family rooted in love, shaped by his immense strength, and forever better because of him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Erich and Ruby (Nettles) Noack; his daughter, Debra Warner; and his brothers, Norman and John Noack. He is survived by his wife, Lavonne; his brother, Erich Noack; sons and their wives, Bryan and Mary Noack, and Daryl and Karen Noack; his son in-law Rodney Warner; his grandchildren Chris, Matthew, Bryan Michael, Sarah, and Ashlee; nine great-grandchildren and his sweet but slightly ridiculous dog, Patches
A visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, at Marrs Jones Funeral Home in Smithville, Texas with a graveside service the following day, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Nettles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
