Burlington Flats
Carl R. Pritchard, age 83, passed peacefully on to his next adventure on August 31, 2024, at Cooperstown Center N.Y., where he had been a resident for just over a year.
Carl was born on November 30, 1940, to Carl K. and Cecelia (Maine) Pritchard, in Cooperstown, N.Y. He spent his early years in the Cold Brook, N.Y. area.
Carl married Marguerite Lighthall on January 30, 1960, and they eventually settled in Burlington Flats, N.Y.
Carl was known by many and lived an adventurous life. He was talented at buying and selling, could play guitar by ear, loved karaoke, and was known for owning numerous classic and muscle cars over the years.
In their later years, Carl and Marguerite spent their winters in Satsuma, Florida, where they enjoyed traveling to flea markets. When speaking to his New York family during the cold winter months, Carl would often remark that he was "shoveling sunshine".
Carl was predeceased by his parents; two brothers during childhood, Paul and Bruce; and recently by two other brothers, Wayne and Rodney.
In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his children, Laurie ("Dingy") Dingman, Carl K. (Cathy) Pritchard, Paul (Kelly) Pritchard, Regina (Paul) Loiacono, Harold Pritchard, Barbara Lince, and Carrie Gott. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his sister, Maryann (Bill) Keeler.
Per Carl's wishes, there will be no services. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Edd Stanimer from the Johnston and Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris, N.Y.
In Carl's memory, he would be pleased if everyone would have a cold beverage or two and enjoy a day of fun.
