Carl retired from Giant Eagle Barberton after spending his life in the grocery business and managing many local grocery stores for over 35 years. He attended Springfield Baptist Church. Carl was known for his love of gardening, and he loved caring for his lawn and his home. Everyone loved Carl's homemade strawberry-rhubarb jelly.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary (McVan) Schuckert, and by brothers, Jim, Jack, Jay, and Gary Lee Schuckert and sister, Joanne Blackwood. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce (Saffel) Schuckert, siblings Beverly (Jack) Davison, Paul (Betty) Schuckert, Linda Walker, and sister-in-law Carol Schuckert. Also numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 10, from 10:30 - 12:30 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home - Akron Chapel 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place at 12:30 pm. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Hillside Memorial Park 1025 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312.

Mr. Schuckert was the manager of Falls Sparkle Market on Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls, where Discount Drug Mart is currently. I worked there from late 1982 through mid 1983, and remember him as a fine man, a very capable manager, kind, patient and understanding. 40+ years later, I've never forgot him. May he rest with our Lord and Savior in blessed peace.
