Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Dr. Robert F. Schuckert.
Dr. Robert (Bob) Fredrick Schuckert passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 10th at the age of 99. He was looking forward to celebrating his 100th birthday on October 3rd. Dr. Schuckert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He and his wife Anne ministered to countless international students and professors. They were dedicated members of Evergreen Presbyterian PCA, where Bob served as an Elder. Bob received his Ph.D. from Florida State University and began his career as a professor at the University of Tennessee. Later he moved on to the University of Alabama, where he remained for over two decades and retired as Professor Emeritus. Dr. Schuckert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anne and daughter Cathy. He is survived by his daughters Susan Carson (Gary), and Margie Marsh (Simon), and his sons Robert Jr. (Sue) and Fred (Teresa) and son-in-law Michael, 25 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. What began in 1944 as a family of two has grown into a family of 61 and counting. A private family celebration of life will be held at a future date where he and his wife Anne will be inurned near their beloved mountain home in Wears Valley, Tennessee. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
