Carl Taylor Scott was born on November 18, 1945, in Groveton, Texas, and passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 80, at home in Montgomery, Texas.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Wayne and Lillie Mae Scott; his brothers, Donald Wayne Scott and John David Scott; and his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Geraldine “Jerri” Elizabeth Scott.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Scott; his brothers, Jim Scott (wife Carol) and Walter Scott (wife Tracy); as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A proud graduate of Pasadena High School, Carl was a member of the Class of 1966. He excelled in track and field and football beginning in junior high and continued his athletic pursuits throughout high school, where he played football and was also a member of the track team. After high school, Carl was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany and served his country honorably. Following his military service, he graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Carl devoted his professional life to his work as an engineer and eventually owned his own company for many years until his retirement. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment.
Carl enjoyed sports—especially the Astros and Texans—politics, and traveling extensively for his work, and he valued time spent with family and friends. He was a longtime member of The Woodland Hills Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas. Carl will be remembered for his humor, genial personality, and his occasional stubborn streak.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at Eickenhorst Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas, followed by burial from 3:00–4:00 p.m. at Garden Park Cemetery.
