Carla Sue Thompson, born on June 14, 1950, in Guymon, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was 75 years old. Carla was a dedicated and passionate individual who spent 44 years working for the Rankin County School District in Child Nutrition, contributing to countless students' lives with her nurturing spirit.
Raised in Oklahoma on the Dickerson Ranch, Carla had a unique childhood, filled with adventures playing with Horn Toads. Eventually, she moved to Mississippi, where she continued to create a warm and loving environment. Carla was known for her affection for her feline companions and shared her home with her beloved cats: Monster, Moma Kitty, and Little Moma.
Carla cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Martin (Victor) and Trisha Allen (Dennis), as well as five adoring grandchildren: Amber Jones, Krystal Chisolm (Joseph), Krystin Rodgers (Charlie), Krissy Martin, and Matthew Martin (Jennifer).
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Rufus Dickerson, her mother, Earline May Smith Dickerson, and her sisters, Alice May Brown and Betty Sessums.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carla's life during visitation on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. Carla's love for her family and her dedication to her work will always be remembered.
