Carlene Tutwiler, 85 of Marietta, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Carlene was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 24, 1940, to Thomas and Bertha Nunnally. She is
survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Tutwiler. She is also survived by her children DennisTutwiler,
Denise Tutwiler, and Dwayne (Jeanne)Tutwiler, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two great-great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carlene retired from the Atlanta Public
School System with over 30 years of service. Carlene loved her church and was a long time
member of Marietta First United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Marietta
Flower Garden Club and her neighborhood women's group, Leesure Ladies. She loved to sit on
her patio enjoying her flowers and birds. Carlene was the sweetest and most loving person, and
she will be truly missed. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 A.M. at
Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. The family will receive friends from 10:00 –11:00 A.M.
Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Carlene's favorite color was
pink, and she loved Easter and springtime, so please join the family in wearing spring colors. In
lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite ministry/charity or to Carlene's
church, Marietta First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Ave, Marietta, Ga., 30064.
