Carlie Nicole Foutch was born June 16, 2007 in Bolivar, Missouri, to Misty Foutch. Carlie and her family moved to Belleville, Kansas in her early childhood, where she attended school, completing her freshman year. In 2012, Ryan Kramer joined Misty and family, becoming dad to Carlie and her sister, Cheyenne. Carlie was blessed to have two dads in her life, as she considered both Ryan Kramer and Alfy Appiah to be her dads. Carlie died January 28, 2024, in Prairie Village, Kansas, at home, surrounded by her parents, Ryan, Misty, and Alfy, and siblings.
Carlie is survived by her mother, Misty Kramer of Prairie Village, Kansas, her dads, Ryan Kramer of Belleville, KS and Alfy Appiah of Prairie Village, KS, her sisters Chasity Foutch (John) of Manhattan, Kansas, Caitlynn Foutch, Cheyenne Kramer and brother, Cooper Kramer of Belleville, sister Maria and brother Jermaine, and their mother Jennifer Loum, of Missouri, nephew Ezra, of Manhattan. Also surviving are grandparents Mitch Foutch and Joi Foutch, of Burwell, NE, and Dianne Kramer of Belleville. Aunt Jamie and Uncle Josh Mast of Shawnee, KS, Uncle Brett of Prairie Village, Aunt Jen Foutch, Uncle David Hause, Uncle Chris Foutch, and many cousins who adored her.
Carlie was preceded in death by grandfather Papa Doug Kramer, great grandmothers Sandra Kramer, Lois Chase, Pauline Hause, and great grandfather James Hause.
Carlie loved and admired all of her siblings. She became very close to 'Jennifer, the mother of her Missouri siblings, Jermaine and Maria. She was very proud of her African heritage, being of Gambian descent. Being a big sister to Cooper and an aunt to Ezra brought her special joy. Carlie felt blessed to have Ryan and Alfy in her life.
Carlie loved life and was a bright light where ever she was. She was passionate about school, especially math. Carlie really enjoyed attending Shawnee Mission East, where she was welcomed and included by staff and students in her short time there. Of course, she and her family are so grateful to the staff and students of Republic County High School for their work to help keep her on track during her illness. Carlie loved her dog Toby, basketball and softball, music, her friends and family. She was the middle child, but felt the need to keep an eye on her sisters from afar, often reporting on activity she thought might be questionable online.
Carlie loved basketball so much that she planned on being on the WNBA team, the Los Angeles Sparks. She was able to visit them in 2022. She greatly admired Kobe Bryant. Carlie was delighted to find that Cheyenne was playing basketball this year, and contacted friends to watch out for her and help her. Carlie's special talent in basketball was on defense, being a pesky little gnat to whoever she was guarding,
Similarly, Carlie loved to steal bases and taunt the pitcher from base while playing softball. She happened to be a decent runner, so this often worked out.
Carlie loved a variety of music, but really admired Juice Wrld. She was able to participate in choir in Jr. High and was selected to go to a KMEA event.
Carlie loved picking up new dance moves on TikTok. On her 14th birthday, she shared these with her team at Children's Mercy. Unfortunately, the performance gave her severe leg cramps later that day.
Carlie was known to run long distances, fast, when chasing her dog, Toby, who is a runner. Carlie even ran barefoot from her house, across 81 highway to the radio station to get that dog.
Carlie was so happy to get all of the mail, texts, snaps, gifts, special foods and visits from the community. Carlie and the family have especially appreciated the prayers from the communities who knew and loved her.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the American Lutheran Church, with PMA Al Urich, officiating.
Friends may sign the register book at the Church prior to the services on Saturday with a reception to follow at the Golden Bell Haven.
